Fees & Medicare Rebates
Session fees for individual and couples therapy at Manas Psychology
Therapy is an important personal, emotional and financial commitment. My aim is to provide clear, transparent information so you can make informed decisions about what feels right for you and your circumstances.
I offer depth-oriented, psychoanalytic and relational therapy for individuals and couples. All sessions are provided by me, Girish Hiremath, Clinical Psychologist & Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, drawing on many years of clinical training and therapeutic experience.
Session Fees
Individual Therapy
- $245 per 50-minute session
Individual sessions are generally held weekly at a consistent time to support continuity, stability and depth in the therapeutic work.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
Couples therapy involves working with the emotional and relational dynamics that each partner brings into the relationship.
- Initial Couples Session (50 minutes): $300

This includes:
 Access to the online, self-administered Gottman Relationship Assessment, therapist scoring and review time, integration of the assessment findings into ongoing therapeutic work - Subsequent Couples Sessions (50 minutes): $245
Medicare Rebates
If you have a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP), you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate for individual therapy with a Clinical Psychologist.
- The current Medicare rebate for Clinical Psychologists is approximately $145.45 per eligible session.
- Medicare rebates do not apply to couples therapy or to cancellations.
Your GP can advise you about your eligibility and referral options.
Private Health Insurance
Some private health funds provide rebates for psychological services, depending on your policy.
Please check directly with your insurer, as rebates vary widely between providers.
Payment Information
- Payment is required at the end of each session.
- For individual sessions eligible for Medicare rebates, once payment is made, I provide you with a payment receipt which you can use to claim any eligible rebates directly from Medicare via the My Gov website or the Medicare App.
- Couples therapy is not Medicare-rebatable under Australian regulations.
